Attack of the Killer Geese

So for the past few weeks I have been pretty obsessed with Our Best Bites, a cooking blog. I have made several things on there and they have pretty much all been delicious. One wedding present that Bryan and I got was a neat collapsible picnic basket so I planned that one day I would make Cheesesteak Sandwiches and we would go on a picnic. There is a park across from the grocery store that we've been wanting to go to for some time so when the weather on Friday was gorgeous it seemed the perfect opportunity.

Here is the park. We sat down at a table and started eating when a hoard of geese surrounded us! It was kind of scary because I have heard that geese aren't very nice and will take a snap at you.

Here they come, headed straight for us. There are a lot more that you can't even see.
They would come right up to the table!

Bryan eating in fear. One of them hissed at him!

We gave in and gave the ones right next to us a couple of scraps. After we were done they got bored and wandered away after a little bit and we made our escape. It probably doesn't
sound/look scary but seeing this mass of geese coming at us and having them come right up to us was surreal. It was certainly an adventure.

In other news, I am temporarily working as a Customer Service Representative taking inbound pick up order phone calls for a company called Saia. It is pretty much eight hours or saying the same things over and over on the phone. By the end of the day my voice is shot and I'm exhausted. It is good to have the extra income, though, and I am always happy to come home to Bryan.

Beautiful Boise

Greetings from Boise! I promised some pictures in the last post so Bryan and I took a nice walk on Sunday and I snapped a few shots. One of our favorite things to do together is take walks when the weather is nice and it sure was gorgeous. The next day, I tracked our walk on Google Maps and found that we had walked 4.6 miles! Anyway, I'll start off with some pictures from our apartment
This is our building! Our bedroom window is the top right corner. You walk down a little entry hall and first you see our extravagantly decorated family room! The apartment we are moving into in Provo is already furnished and we didn't want to bring a huge moving truck up here anyway so we are mostly furniture-less. That standing lamp is from Deseret Industries, as is the little entertainment center. As is the TV... just kidding, we made room for that in the car. Our lovely couch is from Kmart and is inflatable. The one nice touch is a the blanket on the back, which was a wedding present. To the right of our family room you have our little kitchen where I have already done a ton of cooking. Notice the folding chairs, which were so graciously loaned to us by Bryan's mom. We don't have a table (honestly, I don't know where we would fit one anyway) so we eat at the counter. Now you walk into our bedroom and to your immediate right is our bathroom. I think it's funny that our bathroom looks the most furnished out of any other room in our apartment....and here is our sparse bedroom. Again, we have an air mattress. It is a nice double stacked one that has a button to refill air whenever you want, at least.Last of all, here is our nice, big closet.

Before we left on our walk we ate dinner (it was fast Sunday and boy were we famished). I am pretty proud of what I made so I just wanted to post a picture.

VoilĂ ! Stuffed Cornish Game Hens, left over stuffing as a side and Orange Honey Glazed Carrots. We definitely feasted that night. Here are just a couple examples of the greenery. My photography skills don't really do it justice. And an example of the city (it was a Sunday evening so I'm guessing that was why there weren't a lot of cars out).
Here is the beautiful capital building, close up and far away. I guess it was kind of bright that time of day...Here is a neat little Cathedral. Sometime I'd like to go inside and look around.
Here is where Bryan works! Here is where the rest of Clearwater Analytics is housed and the building that Bryan was hired out of.I think this is what everyone is talking about when they refer to the foothills. We live right by them and took just a little hike up them one day.Last but not least is this old abandoned warehouse behind our apartment complex. For weeks Bryan and I have been driving by this building and saying, "What is this building?!" The lawn is taken care of and a few cars park there but other than that it seems totally abandoned and there are no signs up saying what it is... we tried looking it up on Google Maps to see if it was labeled. We even tried asking on Yahoo! Answers... But finally at church on Sunday I asked a lady who apparently lives in our complex and she said it used to be an old armory build. So, mystery finally solved.

So, there you have it! This is our life for the next two-ish months!
