Alyssa...
is my name. I am the primary contributor to this blog about our family. I am from the small and rural town of Mount Airy, Maryland. We are both from the East Coast, a place we love. I graduated from BYU in 2009 with a degree in Home & Family Living. I'm a stay at home mom to our sweet kids-- so we are both fully using our degrees! I love to cook/bake, draw, sew/craft (I even have my own Etsy shop),host friends and family at my house, laugh, draw, have good conversations, read (especially Harry Potter), watch movies and TV, play party board games, sleep, etc. I am good at sewing, cooking, caring for my family, predicting what will happen in TV, movies and books, etc.

met on April 28, 2010 in Provo, Utah, at a birthday party for a friend. For a full account you can read our first blog post. We were married on April 28, 2011 in the Washington D.C. Latter-day Saint temple. We are Mormons-- our lives are profoundly enriched through living the true and restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Though we never planned to, we live in Utah.
Luke...
is our oldest child. He was born December 1, 2013 and is generally a very happy guy. He likes playing pretend, laughing and playing games, running around, climbing anything he can and playing with his cats. He likes the shows Peg + Cat, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and Creative Galaxy. He is very sweet and funny and is a great helper. He loves to help with laundry and emptying the dishwasher and "doing the dishes" especially. He is at an age where he certainly tries our patience. He is very independent and adventurous and curious.
Penny...
is our new baby! She was born January 28, 2017 and is a beautiful girl with the best smiles. She doesn't like being left alone and loves mom and dad. She is a pretty great sleeper and adores her big brother. She cracks up whenever he plays with her.
is from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bangkok, Thailand-- pretty awesome. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2012 with a degree in Computer Science. He is currently employed as a Software Engineer for Workfront, a great company who treat their employees very well. Bryan likes to read, laugh, play video games, watch funny YouTube videos, eat good food, experiment with food, make his own video games, play strategy board games and go on walks and hikes. He is good at making us laugh, programming, being a great dad, learning and sharing knowledge, making bread, playing video games and strategy board games, writing, etc.
